"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent."
- Victor Hugo
Students at Western School participate in the joy of music from Kindergarten through 4th grade. We speak, sing, play, move, create, collaborate and learn to read and write music. The approach we use is inspired by Orff-Schulwerk and Kodaly.
Third and Fourth grade learn to play recorder and are introduced into choral singing. We have a number of performances for all the grades during the year ending in our spring concert. Please check in for more news and insights on our music experiences here at Western School.
About Mrs Unschuld
I became a teacher because I love sharing music with children. It is awesome when my students sing together, play instruments and create music. Western is a great place to teach! The staff, and families are super supportive and the students' music making is fueled by the community's caring.
