Welcome to Western Elementary School. My name is Brenda Goodrich and I have been the principal at Western School since 2014.  Before becoming principal, I served in many roles including Reading & Math Interventionist, ELL teacher, classroom teacher and Reading Specialist.  I grew up in Naugatuck and am blessed each day to come to work to such an amazing faculty and wonderful students and families.  The Western community is truly a family, and I am happy to be a part of it!

    • Education: Sixth Year Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Bridgeport, Master of Education Degree from Southern Connecticut State University, Bachelor of Science Degree from Central Connecticut State University
    • Certifications: Intermediate Administration & Supervision (092), Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts Gr. 1-12 (102), CT Professional Educator K-6 (013), CT Certified (1995)
    • Years of experience teaching: 20 years
    • Years in Naugatuck Schools: I began working in Naugatuck in 2002 as a reading interventionist and ELL teacher
    • A few of my favorite things: Sydney, Hunter, and Jack!, Going on hikes & walks, going to the beach, swimming, peanut butter cups, Earl Gray Tea
    • A fun fact about me: I learned to teach at Western School by student teaching second grade with Carol Kapusta.
